ABOUT APOPS

Association for Pelvic Organ Prolapse Support (APOPS) is a USA based 501(c)(3) nonprofit advocacy agency with global arms, founded in September 2010 to generate awareness of pelvic organ prolapse (POP), to provide support and guidance to women navigating the physical, emotional, social, sexual, fitness, and employment quality of life impact of POP, and to bridge the patient, healthcare, industry, research, and academic communities for the betterment of POP understanding and treatment evolution.

MISSION STATEMENT

APOPS mission is to amplify pelvic organ prolapse awareness, to listen to and acknowledge patient voice, to destigmatize vaginal health, to encourage and optimize women’s health empowerment, and to clarify and quantify POP quality of life impacts.

VISION STATEMENT

APOPS vision is a world in which pelvic organ prolapse awareness and screening are standardized aspects of women's pelvic wellness checks, and stigma has been eradicated from vaginal health.

APOPS GOALS

APOPS has considerable energy engaged in evolving pelvic organ prolapse awareness, screening, practice, and policy evolution.
Immediate Goals:

  1. Amplify pelvic organ prolapse awareness.

  2. Provide global pelvic organ prolapse guidance and support.

  3. Bridge with key stakeholders and organizations to evolve understanding of and evolution in POP treatment.

Long Term Goals:

  1. Inclusion of standardized POP screening in pelvic exams.

  2. Accurate statistical data capture.

  3. Advancement of diagnostic clinician POP curriculum.
