An Empowered Woman with POP Experience to Join APOPS Board of Directors
APOPS is looking for women with a passion for our global cause! APOPS is a US based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization addressing the shortfalls and providing guidance and support to women teens through end of life in 183 countries navigating pelvic organ prolapse.
A nonprofit board director is a volunteer position of prestigious significance. APOPS vision for the future embraces the voices of women impacted by POP. Every APOPS board member must have experienced POP to better understand the needs of the women APOPS serves in order to guide the development of APOPS endeavors. APOPS is currently scouting and interviewing to fill a board member position.
What do APOPS board members do? Board members are visionary directors, steering APOPS toward a sustainable future by analyzing and adopting sound, ethical governance, while developing policies and programs to increase POP awareness and advance POP screening, practice, and policy.
While POP experience is pivotal for our board members; board experience is not. Board members must live in the US, Canada, or Mexico because of the timing of our semi-annual live board meetings. The balance of our monthly board meetings take place virtually in a closed Facebook support forum.

A passion for APOPS cause.

Self-empowerment regarding personal POP dynamic (having had POP surgery is not a criteria).
Work well with others; zero tolerance policy for ego.
Capacity to analyze issues that impact APOPS following.

Foreward-thinking vision.
Monitor and strengthen programs and services.
Ensure adequate financial resources.
Ensure legal and ethical integrity.
Enhance APOPS’ public standing.
APOPS Board is a Visionary Board
APOPS Board of Directors engages with a focus on driving the global charge to address shortfalls in the POP space. Vision and dedication are our primary requirements of board directors, experience in any of the following categories is of value but is not a decisive factor for consideration of a board director position.
Social Media skills.
Governance.
Web Development.
Graphic Arts.
Grant Writing.
POP Healthcare Practice.
IT/Digital.
Legal.
Marketing/Communications.
Policy Development.
Strategic Planning.
Board Director Responsibilities:
Must be able to attend monthly meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Monthly meetings include ten which take place online in a closed forum discussion format. Semi-annually two monthly Zoom board meetings are live, virtual meetings which run from 7-8PM Central time.
