MYOFASCIAL RELEASE THERAPISTS

Myofascial release therapy is a treatment that involves applying gentle but sustained pressure to areas of fascia (fascia is strong, spider web like support tissue that covers all organs and tissues in our bodies that when healthy can stretch and move without restriction). Fascial tissue is supposed to move freely; when our bodies are exposed to trauma during childbirth or scarring/adhesions from surgical procedures, the fascial tissue can lose its flexibility. Tight, restricted fascia creates tension on organs and soft tissues which leads to multiple symptoms of pain, discomfort, or dysfunction.

Myofascial release therapy is an extremely effective hands-on treatment for releasing restrictions that prevent normal placement and performance of organs and tissues.  Once restrictions are released, organs and tissues often return to their normal function.

MFR can be utilized for women suffering from pelvic pain, incontinence, pain with intercourse, sciatica related to POP, or scar tissue or adhesions that impact the pudendal nerve. MFR is beneficial for women who are in early stages of POP to prevent progression and regain pelvic floor function as well as for women who are in the post-surgical pocket and are trying to attain maximum pelvic floor function and maintenance of their repair. The ability to contract the pc muscle is greatly enhanced during Kegel contractions when restrictions are released. MFR increases body awareness which is of great benefit for pelvic floor awareness as well as other areas of the body. This treatment modem is of valuable for women trying to maintain pelvic floor health.
