There are a variety of healthcare professionals who treat pelvic organ prolapse; we recommend women seek guidance from pelvic floor specialists (urogynecologists and urologists that specialize in pelvic organ prolapse) once you have obtained a diagnosis of pelvic organ prolapse from your primary care physician.

A urogynecologist can make both surgical and nonsurgical recommendations for treatment of any of the five types of POP. Many physical therapists, biofeedback therapists, and myofascial release therapists also specialize in women's pelvic floor health.
